**Location**:Flexible with a requirement to work from a single customer location based in Scotland (Edinburgh/Glasgow) 8 days per month.

**Your role**

Because Security Clearance is required for this role you should either hold SC clearance or be willing to undergo the clearance process.

**The role will involve**:

- Function as a deputy for the Head of Engineering and Cloud Services as and when required including attending meetings with senior stakeholders.
- On-going management and support of the Client infrastructure environments on AWS Cloud platform and small implementation of on premises solutions.
- The administration of the Client Cloud infrastructure, utilising appropriate tools for identifying, correcting complex issues, and providing automation for common situations where possible.
- Planning and scheduling of appropriate cloud infrastructure maintenance tasks in line with change management procedures.
- Manage resolution, incidents, and problems, ensuring that these are dealt with as per the appropriate local guidelines and service levels, operating as the “expert in the field” to 1st and 2nd line colleagues (where appropriate) seeking guidance and support for incident and change best practice and troubleshooting.
- Defining and manage small scale projects for upgrading software and hardware components.
- Work with colleagues in development and testing of infrastructure testing and monitoring.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance through coaching and mentoring.
- Lead the sharing of knowledge and good practice. Networking with different people and groups to support solid working relationships across teams and geographies.

**Your experience
- Expert & Certified level understanding of various Cloud Platforms, with AWS EC2 Cloud Technologies in particular.
- Demonstratable experience in supporting Cloud platform services delivered via infrastructure as code that supports highly available, resilient, scalable and fault tolerant end to end architecture.
- Track record of successful hands-on experience implementing and automating Infrastructure as Code (IaC) cloud solutions utilizing AWS EC2 technologies.
- Experience with the principles of continuous delivery, release engineering and deployment pipelines.
- Experience of automation tools used within a cloud infrastructure and be able to incorporate these in the support and maintenance of the cloud platform.
- Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams in a demanding environment whilst promoting development and well-being.
