**About us**
Brighter Futures for Children (BFfC) is an independent, not-for-profit-company, wholly owned by Reading Borough Council. Our responsibility is to deliver quality Children’s Social Care services, Early Help, Education and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services to children and families in Reading.
**About the role**
This role is an exciting and key operational and strategic post which will be responsible for Quality Assurance and inspections co-ordination as the Local Authority Nominated Officer (LANO).
The Lead for Quality Assurance will ensure there is high quality, efficient and timely responses to inspections and a high-quality impactful Quality Assurance Framework resulting in audit activity and a feedback loop back to the service as to the learning from quality assurance activity.
The post holder will provide a strong contribution in improving the practice in all service areas so that we can deliver the highest standard of support to all our children, young people and their families.
**Role responsibilities**:
- Take the strategic lead on designing implementing and monitoring quality assurance systems and processes to ensure quality of practice across the company’s children and young people’s services and across multi agency services.
- Work in partnership with managers to monitor the impact of the subsequent actions to facilitate the necessary improvements to be made and develop opportunities for staff to reflect and embed learning from quality assurance activities.
- Develop and promote mechanisms to seek out, listen to and respond to the views and ideas of managers, employees, partners and other stakeholders in order to ensure services are relevant, responsive and truly focused on meeting identified needs.
- Co-ordinate and manage inspections as the Local Authority Nominated Officer, as required.
- Support, promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
- To provide Quality Assurance reports to various Committees that analyse the audit activity, feedback from children, young people and families, as well as the learning from complaints in order to inform managers and senior leaders of the quality of practice in the service.
**Qualification, Experience required**:
- Professional Social Work qualification (CQSW, DipSW or other SWE recognised social work or social care qualification)
- A minimum five years’ experience at Team Manager level in Children's Social Care
- Proven experience of working within and delivering excellent outcomes within a children services, social care or health setting
- Problem solving and analytical skills to interpret statistical and written information and to produce planning documents and determine a range of informed and imaginative solutions
- Specialist knowledge of the current trends and issues affecting the delivery of children services for children, young people and their families
