**Job summary**An independent regulator in the UK and Ireland, responsible for regulating auditors, accountants, and actuaries, is looking to recruit a Project Support Officer to join their Project Management Office and:

- Lead and coordinating the projects Community
- Support initiatives to further the goals of the PMO
- Provide an effective Secretariat service to the Projects and Programmes Assurance Board

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Devising and delivering an effective programme of events by building productive relationships at all levels internally.
- Leading sessions as a facilitator, interviewer, and a source of useful information on relevant project management topics.
- Taking the lead in organising engaging communications with the growing community of c.60 project managers, enabling learning and knowledge-sharing across teams.
- Building productive relationships with relevant Project Sponsors and Leads, supporting them to contribute and prepare high-quality content.
- Providing an effective Secretariat service to the Projects and Programmes Assurance Board
- Source project updates from all teams, challenging inaccuracies to ensure project information is robust, liaising with colleagues within the PMO and across the organisation
- Working with the PMO Team, ensuring project records are maintained and updated in a timely and professional manner.
- Working with Chiefs of Staff and Project Leads to coordinate and collate information from a portfolio of projects e.g. project timelines and risks.
- Scheduling and organising meetings and preparing agendas and papers for circulation.
- Ensuring effective document management and a clear record of decisions, actions and meeting minutes are kept.
- Communications and engagement activity to embed the Project Delivery Framework and increase/maintain adoption of good PPM practices.
- Taking day-to-day responsibility for discrete improvement work packages or small projects, working under own initiative to increase our project management maturity in a specific area.
- Measuring benefits of PMO activities and collecting data to inform changes or new developments.
- Contribute to PMO Team strategy and planning in order to continually improve processes, initiatives and objectives we aim to deliver.
- Work closely with the Transformation Programme Team to identify, develop and share best practice project management processes between the teams.
- Liaison with other central support teams to ensure coherence and continuous improvement of the services offered to project and programme teams.

**Skills and experience required**Essential
- Good knowledge and experience of project, programme and portfolio management tools and techniques, ideally applied in supporting a PMO, or a project/programme/portfolio team.
- Ability to build deeper technical knowledge of relevant processes and procedures, working towards full project responsibility.
- Application of knowledge in PM theory e.g. APM, PRINCE2, Agile, MSP or similar would be beneficial.
- Demonstrable ability to prepare and evaluate business cases or project initiation documents in connection with all aspects of programme/project management.
- High level of proficiency in IT systems, particularly Excel (formulas, pivot tables), SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable
- A good understanding of the functions of a regulator, and familiarity with the challenges faced by regulatory projects.
- Familiarity with or experience of using SharePoint Lists, MS Project, MS Teams Planner.

**What you'll get in return**This is a full-time permanent position, paying £30,830. The role is based out of Central London, where full-time employees will spend at least four-days per fortnight in the office. 30 days annual leave plus ability to buy extra leave.
