**Project Engineer - Exhaust Systems.**

As an organisation, they house some of the best talent in the industry and with a new leadership team and strategic expansion plans, an opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer - Exhaust Systems to join them and become the project / design lead of exhaustsystems and finishers for all current and future programmes. **Does this sound like the type of company that can offer you an exciting next step of your career?**

The key responsibilities for your new role as Project Engineer - Exhaust Systems are as follows:

- Definition of muffler system, acoustic control, sensors and finishers specification.
- Ensuring component designs achieve quality, performance, function, cost and timing targets.
- Leading concept system / component selection and supplier commodity selection.
- Managing internal / external resource in delivery of 3D and 2D CAD.
- Ensuring CAD designs achieve failure mode avoidance, design for manufacture, service and logístical requirements.
- Ensuring CAD designs achieve failure mode avoidance, design for manufacture, service and logístical requirements.
- Supervising, checking and approving engineering drawings.
- Generating bill of materials.
- Generating prototype and production engineering releases.
- Performing analysis and data judgement in-line with final engineering sign-off requirements.
- Creating and maintaining system and component timing plans.
- Creating and maintaining system and component costs.
- Leading quality history reviews, failure mode avoidance and design verification planning activities.
- Supporting all virtual verification activities including package, CAE analysis and virtual builds.
- Leading cross functional external supplier liaison through the inclusion of engineering, procurement and quality teams.
- Leading cross-functional internal core team / design reviews.
- Supporting prototype and production builds.
- Ownership of related concerns and containment activities.
- Supporting testing of system and components (virtual and physical).

My client is keen to find someone with significant experience of exhaust systems at component, system and vehicle levels, as well as technical design knowledge using first principles of exhaust systems. In an ideal world, you will also possess knowledgeof CAE techniques, exhaust system validation, automotive product creation systems and timing and a knowledge of manufacturing tools, techniques, processes and materials.
