Finance Assistant

**Job Overview**:
To provide support to the finance department, which is undergoing a significant period of growth and system/process improvement.

**Responsibilities & Duties**:
- Maintain and Update Ledger Information in Company Accounts Software, including accounts payable, expenses and cash
- Manage Purchase orders and deal with and new supplier onboarding,
- Liaising with staff and suppliers to resolve queries
- Responsible for daily cash flow management and reporting
- Assist with the financial year end process, including preparation for audit
- Management of contract/3rd party document database
- Make recommendations to systems and processes to enhance performance, efficiency of the finance department and the wider business
- Review and report on expenditure categories
- Assist the wider Finance team as required for holiday and sickness cover
- Carry out additional ad-hoc tasks or projects as may be required by the senior Finance team
**Skills & Knowledge Required**:
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to plan to meet deadlines.
- Highly numerate, with a good Excel knowledge
- Good spoken, written communication and presentation skills.
- Detail oriented and analytical, good negotiator and problem solver.
- Ability to take on board new skills and responsibilities.
- Good listening and questioning.
- Ability to work in a team oriented and collaborative environment.
- Persuasive, encouraging and motivating.
- Ability to create and maintain accurate accessible and organised documentation.
- Ability to make process and system improvements
