An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Stroke department at Basildon hospital for a TIA Co-Ordinator on a permanent full time basis. This role contains clinical and administartive duties.

You will be accountable for the overall daily management of the “one stop” TIA clinic and will be ensuring that local and national guidelines/targets are met.

You will identify any service shortfalls in meeting these targets and raise these concerns to the relevant line manager or Clinical Stroke nurse.

Trained as a Healthcare Assistant

Take blood pressure, temperature, saturations and pulses to document and share with Stroke Doctors.

Perform ECG and take bloods.

Shadow Dr in OPD clinic.

Assist with toileting and personal care.

Sign post patients to stroke association if needed

If admission is needed, liaise with site team, stroke nurse - direct admission needed to acute stroke unit

Assist stroke nurse in A&E when required

Ensuring clinic appointment are given within 24hrs from first contact with primary professional.

Book patients into the TIA clinics via EPR.

Ensure patients are informed, by telephone of their appointment.
