The corporate group has six directorates which collectively cover finance; communications; commercial; project delivery; estates; security; digital; analysis and data, and HR. You will be able to shape your portfolio to your own interests.

This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to work daily with senior officials, Ministerial private offices, and external stakeholders across varied and high-profile issues.

The role of APS demands excellent organisation and communication skills, and the ability to build relationships across the department and more widely, and work confidently with officials at all levels. Key to success will be your ability to remain calm when busy, think quickly on your feet, work independently and exercise strong judgement.

- Support the Head of Corporate Group in meetings, accurately recording decisions and driving progress on actions.
- Effectively manage the flow of work to the Head of Corporate Group, coordinating and providing high quality, timely advice to inform decisions and representing their views to the Department.
- Support the Head of Corporate Group’s internal and cross-government communications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with policy teams, corporate teams and other Private Offices to understand key priorities and delivery challenges.
- Horizon scan to identify and analyse emerging issues for resolution.

**Person specification**:

- Has excellent relationship building skills and is a strong communicator, able to clearly explain complex issues and provide clear direction to colleagues at all levels.

- Is highly organised with excellent prioritisation skills.
- Is a flexible and supportive team player.
- Is able to spot problems and seek creative solutions.
- Will be a visible and professional ambassador for the Head of Corporate Group and a strong advocate for the Group across the department and with external stakeholders.
