**Overview**:
**Duties**:

- Help prepare and fully set out the playroom before the children arrive and tidy up after the children leave.
- Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safekeeping of the children.
- Provide care, attention and nurture to the children as required
- Help plan, prepare and implement activities to provide a balanced curriculum with regard to the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Washing and changing children as required
- Be able to make and record regular observations of key children in order to have an informed picture of their development, so that relevant planning is made for them and plan the ‘next steps’.
- Encourage parental involvement by keeping parents/carers fully informed of their child’s development and encouraging them to contribute.
- Assist with maintaining discipline, in accordance with the behaviour management policy.
- Support the recording of all accidents/incidents in the Accident Book.
- Support the complete recording of any medication given to a child.
- Liaise with supervisor (and SENCO as necessary) of any concerns about individual children.
- Take children to the toilet and to wash their hands and as necessary change nappies.
- Take part in outings and visits as required.
- Keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other

Staff
- To contribute to a planned programme of activates suitable to the age range of children in conjunction with other staff
- Uphold standards within the setting by adhering to all policies and procedures
- Strive to safeguard children by working to the organisations safeguarding Code of Conduct
- Ensure the child is collected by someone known to the setting
- To be flexible within working practices of settings. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting. E.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.
- Look upon the setting as a “whole” where can you to ensure your time is utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of the children

**Job Type**: Apprenticeship

Pay: From £6.40 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

School type:

- Day nursery
- Preschool

- Are you able to travel to Winchcombe for early start/finish times? Our nursery is open from 7.30am - 6pm, and shifts may require you to be able to arrive/leave for these sessions.

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
