**Responsible to**: Counselling Coordinator

SAFA is passionate about delivering the highest professional standard of services to its clients within the local community. We aim to protect and preserve the health and relieve the needs of people in Cumbria who self-harm or are affected by others that self-harm.

We are looking to employ counsellors with a recognised qualification to, at least, postgraduate diploma level (12 months experience desirable) to join our team.

You will be providing specialist counselling within the broad spectrum of self-harm behaviours including eating disorders. All our clients are aged 11 +. SAFA work face to face with clients offering a therapeutic relationship and responding flexibly to their needs.

We work alongside other professionals and receive referrals through our online system. You will undertake referral assessments as part of the role.

We are committed to assist in the placement of trainees. You will be responsible for mentoring the trainee counsellors who are on placement. This includes the overseeing of their placement and working alongside their training provider.

We ask that you comply with the following SAFA policies and procedures-Lone Working, Information Governance, Health and Safety and Safeguarding adults at risk, including the immediate reporting of safeguarding actions when necessary. We also ask that you will take appropriate action in the event of emergencies and ensure you report to the Counselling Coordinator.

You will ensure all client case notes are recorded on the current system SAFA use.

You will be required to attend regular supervision with a registered supervisor.

You will carry out all work in a consistent manner and work within the SAFA ethos.

You will adhere to the BACP ethical framework.

**Qualities Required**:
You must be BACP registered/accredited

You must be committed to an ongoing, evidenced CPD.

**Salary: £28,800 pro rata**

**Holidays**: 20 days plus 8 statutory days pro rata.

**Probationary Period**: The first six months will constitute as a probationary period. When this is successfully completed, employment will be confirmed.

**Pension**: SAFA operates an auto-enrolment pension scheme with Legal and General.

**Discretionary Benefits**: A proportion of your supervision fees will be provided by SAFA.
