Transport Supervisor

**Who are we looking for?**
**What will you do?**
Assisting with the compliance of the company’s Operator License undertakings and ensure that the laws relating to the driving and operation of vehicles used under this license are observed, you will ensure all delivery vehicles are routed to maximise efficiency and optimisation savings are achieved with routes being profitable.
Remotely managing drivers, ensuring time critical deliveries are made on schedule efficiently and safely to required locations as scheduled. Manage relationships with internal customers and third parties to determine their requirements and achieve service level agreements. Brief and debrief drivers to ensure that all instructions for their allocated runs are understood and actioned.
Assist and ensure that the rules on drivers’ hours and tachographs are observed and that proper records are kept and help ensure driver cards are downloaded at the beginning and end of each shift.
**What do you need?**
You will require at least 2 years’ experience at Supervisor level within a Transport office, a working knowledge of the construction industry would be a distinct advantage. Knowledge of relevant legislation including Operators Licence awareness (O-Licence) and driver CPC is required. A strong knowledge of route optimisation techniques is a must.
- National CPC or willing to work towards.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal,
- Highly literate in Microsoft office
- be self-motivated, flexible, with the ability to work accurately on an independent basis always giving attention to detail.
- positive attitude and work ethic with the ability to develop ongoing relationships.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software and systems.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- A valid UK driving license and any additional certifications relevant to the transport industry.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is advantageous.
