**Job Purpose**

Working closely with both the Factory & their grower supply base to collect and report data on sizes, yields, fry quality, tuber defects, sugars & yield.

You will be field/farm/lab based collecting samples to process in the lab. During summer months this will be mainly in field, and autumn months you will be visiting potato stores regularly for quality checks. Samples collected will then be assessed in the lab and the quality results will then need be entered onto the portal.

There may be opportunities to progress the role further into developing grower facing relations, seed management, trialling of new varieties and potato store management. Also as new staff join you may be required to take on a training role.

Key Accountabilities
- Working alongside the General Manager and KFL’s Supply Chain Coordinator and standing in as required during holidays etc. - reporting to the Agriculture Manager for day to day instruction when necessary.
- You will manage your own daily workload.
- Comfortable with travelling independently in a company vehicle to field & farm locations to collect samples.
- Inputting of records into the Portal database.
- To ensure accurate and complete information flow on both growing crop, harvesting and stored crop QC data - the role will need solid IT skills on data entry and excel, flexibility during peaks of work is required, specifically July to November when harvesting is taking place.
- To represent KGS in a variety of different circumstances.

HSE Responsibilities (Levels 3 & 4)

Lead by example to set expectations, plan work to be carried out in a safe manner, take action to prevent risk of harm to their team. Challenge and address unsafe behaviour, be involved in testing emergency procedures, lead accident & incident investigations to establish root causes and preventative measures. Deliver safety briefings to your team so you are seen as the safety leader of your team. Make available team members to support the company safety program.

Qualifications/Experience
- Somebody who is comfortable working both outside & indoors, has an eye for detail and has good organisation/communication skills.
- Experience of the potato sector or agriculture helpful but not essential.
- Capable of collecting samples from stores and fields and a willingness to work in both farm, office and lab conditions.
- Capable of communicating effectively with farm staff and Senior Factory managers.
- A valid, clean driving licence is essential.
- A flexible attitude to working hours and conditions when necessary.
- This is a multi skilled role that would suit a self motivator that thrives in different environments and can both work on their own and as part of a team.
- Capable and willing to step into a supervisory role with temporary or new permanent staff when required.
- Willing to take on projects and training when requested to help broaden their skill set.
