Trainee Foam Cutter, Dover

Working out of our Dover manufacturing unit, we are looking to train a selected individual to become a Trainee Foam Cutter. To begin with, you will learn the manufacturing process, alongside the benefits of technology and multi-site manufacturing. Working as part of a small team you will learn quickly, before progressing to become a key part of this exciting and successful area of the Plumbs business, which has seen growth year on year.

You will be provided with a constant workflow so it will be essential for you to keep on top of your work.

Key skills you will gain.
- Extracting the correct information from the foam orders, both written & numerical.
- Wrapping foam cushions in a polyester wadding using spray adhesive.
- Packing cushions & labelling ready for despatch to the end user.
- Competent use of the stockinette machine.
- Competent use of the bull nose machine.
- Competent use of foam cutting bandsaw.
- Cutting the foam block economically to obtain maximum product yield.
- Rounding the front edge of the foam cushions using a bull nose machine.
- Measuring customer’s furniture & making new foam cushions from the measurements.
- Liaising with the office regarding foam orders.
