Our Client, a well-established Construction Company based in Nechells, Birmingham are looking for an **Accounts Assistant**to join their busy team.

**This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently finished College/University and is looking to kick-start their career in Accounts/Finance or someone with previous experience as an Accounts Administrator/Clerk/Assistant.**

**Duties and Responsibilities:

- **
- **Purchase ledger**:

- Coding and Posting invoices.
- Liaising with the suppliers and Contract Managers.
- Approving invoices.
- Reconciling supplier statements monthly.
- Preparing monthly payment runs.
- Paying monthly mileage claims and cash expenses.
- Sending out new supplier questionnaires and setting up new suppliers.
- Matching and coding MasterCard statements and receipts.
- Scanning and saving invoices.
- **Sub-Contractor Ledger**:

- Coding and Posting invoices.
- Liaising with subcontractors.
- Verifying CIS status.
- Approving invoices.
- Checking and reconciling of supplier statements weekly/monthly.
- Preparing payments.
- Verifying new sub-contractors via Government website.
- Sending out new sub-contractor questionnaires.
- **Bank reconciliation.**:

- **Vehicle administration/ Fleet management**:

- Booking vans for service and MOTs.
- Dealing with parking or speeding fines.
- Booking HGV training.
- Carrying out driving licence checks.
- Producing spreadsheets using Microsoft excel.
- Complete general administrative and ad hoc duties.
- Relevant Accountancy experience or a desire to start career within Accounts.
- AAT or similar qualification (desirable but not essential.)
- A bright and bubbly personality.
- Good communication skills.
- A desire and passion to work within Accounts/ Finance.
- A hands on approach, with a willingness to complete a wide range of tasks.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
