**Job Description**:
Role: Membership and Fundraising Officer - (Events, Individual Giving, Lottery and Membership)

**Salary**: £23,800 (full-time, 37.5 hours per week)
Contract Term: this is a temporary post for maternity cover

Disability Snowsport UK is the UK’s leading adaptive snowsport charity. We offer unique opportunities for people with disabilities to access snowsport. There are an estimated 14 million disabled people in the UK and it’s our ambition to reach as many of these people as possible so that they can experience the unique health and social benefits of snowsport. We deliver adaptive ski lessons in centres across the UK, facilitate trips to Europe and the USA to teach skiing in an alpine environment; and provide a platform for disabled skiers to meet and participate in snowsports through our local groups.

Scope of work
Working with the Fundraising Team, the Membership and Fundraising Officer will lead on building and supporting DSUK’s membership community and fundraising activities for Events, Individual
Giving, and Lottery.

Events will include community fundraising (challenge events, school fundraising, third party events), and digital fundraising (with a focus on regular gifts),

At this point in the team’s growth, the Membership and Fundraising Officer is also responsible for their own administration including membership and gift processing and donor stewardship. We are entering an exciting new phase at DSUK and it is anticipated that this role provides room for future growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Membership
- Ensure that the membership programme runs efficiently and effectively.
- Review the membership programme annual and implement changes for improvement
- Ensure that DSUK members are valued, nurtured, and experience the benefits of membership.
- Lead on membership reviews ensuring that members are engaged and gaining maximum benefit from their DSUK membership.
- Negotiate exciting and relevant discounts and benefits for DSUK members.
- Seek and analyse the views of members in developing and delivering member benefits.
- Track membership and advise the SMT on successes and areas of opportunity.
- Drive membership growth.

Fundraising Targets
- Plan fundraising activity for all areas of responsibility below, in line with the fundraising income target
- Monitor progress each month against fundraising targets
- Agree actions with the Fundraising Manager to implement changes to activity planning if income targets are not successful

Events
- Prepare an annual calendar of fundraising activities/events (in-person and online).
- Market and advertise these events via DSUK’s social media channels
- Plan and execute DSUK’s membership engagement
- Attend engagement events promoting DSUK as a whole, as well as building relationships to develop new and existing membership benefits.
- Plan and deliver membership events, in person and online including Santa Slide, Super Hero

Tri etc.

Communication
- Social Media Channel Management - day to day management of DSUK’s Social Media

Channels
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop content for DSUK Social Channels and wider DSUK

Communications.
- Support other departments and colleagues to promote and advertise events through Social

Media and wider communications.
- Work with colleagues to develop and maintain a content library for use in all Comms.
- Develop content for DSUK member communications, including a regular Newsletter.
- Ensure that all communications are accessible and that all DSUK members have equal access to DSUK communications and member benefits.
- Develop and deliver a suite of regular online engagement events (DSUK Live)

Lottery
- Regularly report the outcome of the weekly lottery draw
- Review the effectiveness of the lottery and implement changes for improvement
- Monitor the number of lottery customers

Merchandise
- Source and sell relevant and exciting merchandise that provide good value to DSUK members and generate a financial surplus for DSUK.
- Manage stock and distribution of DSUK merchandise.

Individual giving
- Nurture and recognise DSUK’s individual givers.
- Ensure that DSUK’s donors are thanked regularly and in a timely and personal manner.

Recording and Reporting
- Record and prepare data relating to fundraising activities
- Compile and provide reports for the Head of Finance and SMT as required.
- Work with the Fundraising Manager and Head of Finance on projected income and expenditure in line with planned activities.

Other duties
- To ensure compliance with relevant DSUK policies.
- To fulfil any other reasonable duties requested.
