Planning Administrator - Project based role 6 month contract
Godalming
37 hours per week. Full training will be provided - Hybrid worker after trained but expected to work in the office during period of training

To provide technical and administrative support to the Business Support Team and Development Management Section with particular focus on the development management process.
To assist in the provision of an efficient, effective and professional Planning Service.
Responsibility for coordination and management of the appeal process.
MAIN DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintenance of databases, records and personal data supplied in line with Data
Protection legislation and guidance.
enquiries providing guidance, information or advice. Explanation to the public, colleagues and Councillors of planning procedures and requests for information for appeals, NMAs and conditions.
Acting as liaison with Planning Inspectorate regarding appeals.
Administration of appeals to include planning and prioritising the appeal process, issuing notification letters and arranging venues for Hearings/Inquiries, including project managing the repayment of appeal/consultant costs.
This involves prioritising and ensuring adherence to statutory timescales without direct supervision.
Administer with mínimal supervision procurement process for seeking
Consultants, and specialist advice in accordance with internal procedures and the Councils Contract Procedure Rules.
Prepare and issue tender letters for consultants and track repayment of fees where necessary.
Where required assist with authorization and payment of invoices through the
Councils invoice database (Agresso).
Being proficient in the use of the digital mapping systems.
Use of microfiche records and Civica system for research projects.
To undertake other duties relevant to the Technical Teams area of responsibilities as requested by the Team Leader or Development
Management
Provide support for other team tasks and Customer Service Team when appropriate.
Update website pages ensuring the Councils website content is current and accurate and meets Councils accessibility criteria and digital first service approach.
Interrogate systems to provide statistics as required.
Provide administrative support in the preparation and issuing of Decision Notices.
Business Continuity
Play a pivotal role in business continuity planning and should the need arise assist in ensuring business recovery of key service provision in a 24 hour window.
Health and Safety
Comply with all Health and safety legislation for your area of work, ensuring that risks are identified, managed and monitored as required
DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE
Project based role within Business Support Team
Applications - approx. 70 new submissions per week
Applications - a3pprox. 30 amended submissions per week
Neighbour letters - a3pprox. 600 per week
Telephone calls - a3pprox. 50 per week
Log on average 10 requests per week for discharge of planning conditions.
Plan and prioritise an average of 10 appeals per week.
Update planning computer system with all relevant planning matters, including on an average 150 letters of representation per week.
