As a Test Analyst working with us, you will play a leading role in defining, developing and delivering our Quality Assurance processes.
You will work with colleagues to ensure robust testing is a part of every project plan, designing and executing testing training in accordance with the Whistl Quality Assurance process.
This is an opportunity for you to take ownership of system test activities, managing unit and integration testing for both agile and traditional environments whilst making use of test tools such as Test Rail.
This Test Analyst role is predominantley home-based with occasional travel to our Lutterworth site. Own transport is essential.
**As a Test Analyst, your role will involve**:
- defining, developing, and delivering the Whistl QA process and providing advice and support for delegated QA functions.
- co-ordinating and documenting all QA activities and delegating specialist tasks where appropriate.
- identifying issues and risks, providing recommendations for mitigating actions, and escalating as appropriate.
- training business analysts/business users in the preparation of test cases/user stories to map test requirements in a structured format.
- carrying out all elements of testing as required including writing of test scripts, smoke testing, system testing, functional testing, user acceptance testing, regressions testing, integration testing, and load/performance testing.
This role would suit Test Analysts with experience in testing, software, quality assurance, IT development, and as an Analyst.
**Essential Skills**:
- Experience in developing and using automated test processes and systems.
- The ability to produce testing documentation to a high standard, including test plans, test scripts, issue logs, etc.
- A sound understanding of testing management methodologies and practical experience of the tools and techniques used in testing.
- A good level of analytical and numerical ability. Able to analyse data, make inferences, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
- A strong understanding of software testing techniques and processes including both waterfall and agile methods, using bug tracking software (preferably Jira), using testing software (preferably Test Rail), concepts around test automation, and knowledgeof some of the tools in the market e.g. Selenium.
- Basic understanding of.Net, Java, Web API's, FTP, SQL, XML, and web development techniques.
- High level of IT literacy - intermediate to advanced in Microsoft Office packages. The ability to learn different IT packages as required.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work to strict deadlines.
- Commercial experience - understanding the commercial aspect and impacts on our projects.
- Typically, we would estimate that it would take between 3_-_4 years' testing experience to acquire these skills.
**Desirable Skills**:
- BCS Foundation/ Intermediate Certificate or equivalent in Software Testing and/or ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Level (CTAL) or equivalent would both be desirable.
- Knowledge of the UK mail industry and related systems would be desirable.
