Senior Therapy Technical Instructor

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Therapy Technician (Band 4) temporary for 12 months to join the Therapies Team at the University Hospital of North Midlands. The post holder will work within a team of dedicated Therapists and Technicians, supporting both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy activities, including assessment, treatment and discharge of patients, always aiming to meet the patients’ rehabilitation goals.

The Therapy Department is made up of two divisional therapy teams working across multiple clinical areas. This full time post sits within the Medical Division Therapies team, with the post holder predominantly being based at County Hospital, although all posts have opportunities to work across both the Royal Stoke and County Hospital sites.

Therapy Services work within a 7 day shift system therefore the post holder will be required to work weekends, late shifts and bank holidays.

The post rotates across a variety of specialist inpatient and outpatient areas which include: Surgery (including General Surgery and Specialist Amputee),, Palliative Care (including Oncology and Renal), Frail Elderly (including Frail Elderly Assessment Unit, General and Rehabilitation Wards), Emergency Portals (including A&E, Acute Medical Unit, Clinical Decision Unit and Short Stay Ward), Medicine (General and Respiratory including Non-Invasive Ventilation Unit and Cardiology). You will have the opportunity to be involved in providing early rehabilitation and complex discharge planning for a range of different conditions and injuries that are treated within a Major Trauma Centre.

Therapy Services at UHNM work within a 7 day shift system therefore the post holder will be required to work weekends, late shifts and bank holidays.
