Westminster School of Arts (WSA) are seeking a Lecturer in Fashion Design Menswear to work at postgraduate level on our successful MA / MFA Menswear course.

This post requires someone with specific expertise in menswear with a strong awareness of current issues within fashion. You must have sound industry experience within menswear, with a professional and academic profile commensurate with the stage of your career.

You will have a professional practice and solid knowledge of 2D design for fashion, as well as expertise in both analogue and digital skills relating to portfolio creation. Knowledge and proven experience in Adobe and digital packages are essential, as is a confident understanding of developing students’ aesthetics and identities in order to establish their position within industry and employability.

The post holder will also manage and module lead the internship and placement module, liaising with industry and providing pastoral support and employment skills as well as assisting the course leader in the day to day running, planning and implementation of the course.

You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to sustained continuous professional and academic development and nurture and maintain links with the fashion industry to strengthen teaching programmes, research, and associated activities. You will have experience in developing and delivering teaching and student-centred learning, with an extensive knowledge of menswear industry practice surrounding fashion.

Additionally, the ability to engage in current debates, and a familiarisation with standards and regulations towards awareness of diversity and ethical issues as they relate to fashion design. You will be expected to be involved in developing your own research interests alongside other scholarly activities which can support your teaching activity and where the quality of the outputs can be recognised nationally in terms of originality, significance and rigour.
