Following the recent disaggregation of shared service arrangements between Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, Peterborough has the chance to refresh its identity and create a positive and dynamic culture as well as develop structures that are fit for purpose within our people services directorate.

Peterborough City Council is looking to appoint someone with the passion and drive to lead on the tendering and procurement of education and social care passenger transport routes.

This is a new and exciting role, working as part of the council’s Passenger Transport Operations Team. You will contribute to the delivery of Education and Social Care transport by taking a lead role in the procurement and management of contracts with external suppliers.

You will have some experience of contract management and supplier engagement ideally within the transport field, you will also benefit from experience and a good understanding of procurement principles and processes.

This will be a demanding role in a very busy team. You will have knowledge and experience of working with a range of administrative systems and you will be able to quickly develop new or improved processes to support the development of this exciting new position.

The successful applicant should have:

- Good attention to detail and experience of contract procurement, management and contract compliance;
- Be able to develop positive relationships with stakeholders;
- Have good ICT skills;
- An ability to meet deadlines and provide flexible and timely support.
