**The Company;**

Our client is one of the world's leading providers of diesel engines with a Global Supply Chain.

**The role;**

This role can be taken on either permanently or as a contract role paying £30-£34 per hour inside IR35.

**Main responsibilities;**
- This position works on project teams comprised of multi-functional resources, including business division supply chain planning, site global purchasing, operations, receiving, Global Transportation, Demand and Orders, Material Requirements Planning andLogistics
- This position participates in lean events and works collaboratively with suppliers and multiple business division functions to address and resolve supplier issues using root cause and corrective action (RCCA)
- The incumbent performs tactical work to develop supplier value stream maps and to develop supplier plans for every part
- The incumbent will be involved in assessing the Supplier capacity and capability to ensure forecasts orders can be met.
- This position addresses day-to-day supplier constraints to improve supplier performance and their ability to flexibly and rapidly respond to the customer requirements
- Incumbent works on projects to implement improved supplier collaboration with the customer and third party service providers using common collaboration technologies
- Incumbent supports and facilitates supplier interaction with business division packaging and transportation resources to optimize packaging, containerization, point of use presentation, barcode labelling, ASN compliance, enhanced communications relatedto quality improvements, and improving carrier selection and transportation container optimization
- UK, European & Global travel may be required to Supplier Sites

**Required;**
- Experience of working across multiple manufacturing disciplines or sectors.
- Knowledge and understanding of LEAN principles
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid procurement and supply chain systems knowledge
- Experience in Purchasing, Supplier Performance, Material Requirements or Global Supply Chain / Logistics
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus
- Thorough understanding of best practice policies and procedures, especially those with supplier or customer impact
- Solid supply chain planning, demand and orders, logistics and manufacturing knowledge
- Proficient in MS office packages - Excel, Word and PowerPoint
