Cornwall Rural Community Charity (CRCC) is an organisation dedicated to supporting and strengthening Cornwall’s Communities to improve quality of life. You would be working within one of the CRCC projects - Cornwall Carers Service (CCS). CCS is a partnership of like-minded organisations supporting unpaid informal carers caring for a loved one.

The worker will support transition age young adult carers (18-25) in their journey through to adulthood using inspirational approaches which support young adult carers to develop and pursue their goals and aspirations, hopes and dreams.

You will support them to identify, access, and navigate adult service systems relevant to their specific needs and ensuring they have their needs met, their welfare promoted and that they are safeguarded from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

The successful applicant will work in partnership with young adult carers to empower them to develop the skills to make decisions relevant to their own life choices for the future. They will help young adult carers to connect to existing support and a range of resources within their communities including, housing, education, employment services and training, life and living skills, health and mental health services.

The role requires the successful applicant to work co-operatively with social care, health agencies and other community-based services, and work closely with schools and colleges. The successful applicant will work in partnership with the Young Carers Team to develop and facilitate groups/workshops, and to co-produce activities and events which support young and young adult carers to achieve their goals. The worker will also deliver residential activities for young adults
