Project Choice is a supported internship programme that aims to support young adults with learning difficulties, disabilities or autism to become employment ready.

You will work closely with the Area Manager in delivering the project outcomes and maintaining an employment transition rate for students at above 75%. You will play a key role in ensuring the programme meets the needs of the students, employers and regulatory bodies.

Please note
- this role is based in Durham but travel to other locations across the country may be needed at times. A drivers licence and access to a car is preferred but not essential.

A passion for supporting students with SEN to meet their full potential is essential for this role. The post holder will hold a teaching qualification or have recent experience in supporting the education of students with SEN in the classroom and work placement. They will have the skills and experience to adapt working practices to suit the learning needs of individual students using Training in Systematic Instruction methodologies.
The post holder will be a confident communicator with excellent motivating skills, you will also be highly organised and be extremely efficient in using MS Office packages.
The coordinator’s main duties will include supporting, monitoring and recording individual student’s progress and reinforcing employability skills by delivering sessions in a classroom setting. The role also involves delivering bespoke training to mentors and sourcing new employers to provide placements/employment transitions for students.

Salary Progression
Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 5 with a full-time starting salary of £27,055, with pay step increases after 2 years’ service and 4 years’ service.

This is offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and is based on office location.
