Mayoral Assistant

Contractual Status: Fixed Term (aligned with the electoral cycle)

We are looking to recruit a Mayoral Assistant to work closely with the Mayor of Middlesbrough and the Labour Group to be a key part of the team.

You will be great at building effective relationships, bringing outstanding communication skills that will be put to the test managing social media accounts, researching, and delivering political procedures and policy to advise the Mayor and the Labour group as appropriate.

It’s a busy role and we need someone that has proficient IT, organisational and research skills. The ability to present information in meetings and work with external agencies is a must

In summary, the specific tasks and responsibilities of the post include:

- Undertaking specified project and policy _
- Draft correspondence, press releases and briefings where necessary_
- Provide support to the Mayor on a range of issues_
- Co-ordinate, attend and facilitate meetings both internal and external to the Council _

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Experience of working in a political environment_
- Ability to research, evaluate and analyse information_
- Excellent IT skills _
- Ability to present information in a clear, concise manner_
- A flexible approach to working hours_
