Ainscough Crane Hire are recruiting for a Ballast Driver to be based out of our Leyland depot

Job Purpose/Objective:
To deliver crane ballast & auxiliary equipment using our modern fleet of heavy haulage tractor units and multi axle trailers on time to the cranes on site, adhering to health and safety standards of both our company and the client at all times.

Key Accountabilities/Main Duties:

- Deliver crane ballast and auxiliary equipment to sites.
- Loading and unloading of ballast and equipment.
- Work to manufacturer's instructions at all times.
- Adhere to road traffic regulations.
- On arrival on site contact Transport Office.
- Correctly use manual handling techniques
- Comply with all legal requirements in relation to licensing, driver's hours, rest period, speed limits and the correct use of Tachograph recording equipment.
- Ensure that our vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned and are used in accordance with permitted weight limits.
- Continually seek to improve the way in which the role operates within the business to achieve its objectives.

Person Specification:
Essential:

- Category LGV C+E Driving Licence.
- Heavy Haulage experience
- Able to work well on own initiative and with others as part of a team.
- Experienced in working within a controlled environment in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Flexible with regards to working hours and locations which will require overnight stays away from home.
- Hold a valid Driver CPC card

Desirable:

- Substantial experience in the crane industry.
- Substantial experience in heavy haulage.
