**Marketing Officer, The D-Day Story**

**Salary**: Band: 8, £32,020 - £34,722 p.a. (£19,471 - £21,114 for 22.5 hours)

22.5 hours per week including evenings and weekends as required. Hours and days to be worked to be discussed at interview.

**Your New Role**

This is a key role leading the marketing of The D-Day Story working closely with the General Manager, key members of the museum team and the Tourism and Marketing Manager to increase awareness of the museum, developing plans which both drive footfall and maximise income from a diverse range of audiences.

You will be joining at an exciting time as the museum plans for the 80th anniversary of D-Day in 2024 and will play a crucial role in ensuring the museum not only effectively promotes the wide range of activities and events planned for next year but also capitalises on the significant increase in awareness of D-Day seen during a major anniversary year.

The post holder will be responsible for creating a marketing strategy and annual marketing plan that encompasses a wide range of activity to maximise the impact from the museum marketing budget. You will be expected to work collaboratively with key members of the museum team to ensure all aspects of the visitor offer and experience are effectively and timely promoted throughout the year. In addition, you will work in partnership with relevant colleagues across Portsmouth City Council as well as external partners across the city and beyond, including local and national organisations and other emerging bodies and help to increase the collective ambition and raise awareness of the opportunities afforded at Portsmouth Museums and Visitor Services.

You will have experience of museum and tourism marketing as well as of creating a marketing strategy/plan and managing budgets. You will be able to collect and evaluate information to inform future strategy with the ability to use your own initiative and problem solve. With excellent communication and negotiation skills you will be committed to working collaboratively in order to achieve optimum results.
