Permanent role for a skilled and motivated CAD/CAM programmer required to join an established sheet metal business in the Worcestershire area in their expanding engineering team.

Our client invested over 2M in new equipment last year and intends to grow sales by 50% this year by reaching new markets and developing new products. As CAD/CAM programmer you would be working closely with business development and tendering team to developand prove new programs whilst maintaining programs and accurate files for existing jobs.

As CAD/CAM programmer you will be required to manage the flow of required programming to support the demand of customers, ensure material allocation is 100% accurate on a daily basis and manage team members work allocation on a daily basis, ensuring manufacturinglead-times are achieved.

Your day to day will involve the following
- Process all elements of CAD/CAM programming for flatbed lasers and tube laser using multiple source programs, e.g Jet Cam, Amada Production Designer and AR Tube.
- Plan and act to generate accurate CAD/CAM drawings of parts using customer supplied drawings and DXF’s.
- Optimal sheet utilisation is a primary function of this role due to maximising the material consumption
- Generate CNC programs from multiple source programs CAD/CAM software.
- Great working knowledge and understanding of machine tooling and proper usage.
- Perform online and offline programming when required.
- Control the handling of CNC programs from the server to CNC machines.
- Create and maintain the part manufacturing process.
- Troubleshoot machining related issues (tool, manufacturing process, or mechanical).
- Develop a robust drawing file to maintain accuracy of customer drawings and DXF files

The successful programmer will have a CAD/CAM background in sheet metal processes to include laser cutting and brake pressing and ideally be familiar with Jet CAM, Amada Production Designer and AR Tube. In addition, you will have the following attributesand skills
- Customer focused with excellent communication skills
- Experience working within a sheet metal fabrication environment.
- General and practical knowledge of measuring tools, equipment, and concepts.
- Have general design concepts of fixture or work holding components for all processes.
- Excellent working knowledge of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
