Title: Barista
Job Summary:
The Barista is responsible for providing high-quality beverages and food items to customers. They should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, and be knowledgeable about coffee and tea brewing techniques.
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other high-quality beverages
- Take customer orders, and handle cash and credit card transactions
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work area
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of all coffee, tea, and food items available for sale
- Prepare and serve food items as needed
- Uphold the company's brand standards and protocols
- Contribute to a positive and friendly atmosphere for customers and co-workers
- Work with team members to ensure items are properly stocked and cleaned at all times
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a customer service or food service position
- Knowledge of coffee and tea brewing techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and reach overhead
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- Passion for coffee and tea and willingness to continue learning about new products
- Ability to create latte art and other visually appealing drink presentations
- Experience using commercial espresso machines and other specialty coffee equipment
- Understanding of health and safety regulations regarding food and drink preparation
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently during peak hours
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with coworkers during busy periods
- Strong work ethic and dedication to providing excellent service to customers
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Experience using point of sale systems and cash handling procedures
- Availability to work weekends and holidays, as needed
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £11.50-£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 - 48 per week
