To operate the visitor facilities at the site for anglers, birdwatchers and other recreational users controlled by Thames Water. To help promote, manage and interpret the conservation, access, recreation and educational interest of the site to visitors, and promote Thames Water to them. To contribute towards the development of facilities and improving and monitoring performance. To support partnerships with external stakeholder groups and work closely with Operations and other staff in the Conservation, Access and Recreation section.

**What you’ll be doing as a Farmoor Fishery Ranger**
- Contribute ideas and provide support to the Fisheries Manager in planning developments, budgets, pricing and work plans. Monitor best practices in allocated topics of site management.
- Support events to promote the recreational activities of the site and interpret its interest.
- Contribute to a Site Development Plan covering general visitor use, wildlife conservation and angling
- Contribute information to promote the site, for example for press releases, award submissions, promotional articles and marketing literature, and support updates of websites and site interpretation
- Support events as required.
- Manage equipment and visitor facilities including signage, car parks, hides, equipment hired to customers, fish cages, and boats.
- Support planning of fish stocking programme, and support procurement of fish and feed and manage cages.
- Plan and implement maintenance for visitor facilities e.g. signs, fencing, toilets, paths, bird hides, managed wildlife habitat, boats and fish cages, including supervising contractors as agreed.

**What you should bring to the role**
- Recognised fisheries qualification is desirable.
- Enthusiasm to support the development of a recreational visitor site
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to quickly build a rapport with the public.
- Willingness to be an enthusiastic ambassador for Thames Water to the public
- Enthusiasm to support course/game anglers during their visits.
- Strong team-working skills
- Reasonable level of numeracy to monitor financial and performance data and reasonable level of written communication skills to write reports
- A valid driving licence.
