Workshop Fitter

Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret blueprints, codes, standards, and schematics to determine specifications and requirements for the job
- Use mechanical knowledge to assemble, fit, and install components according to specifications
- Operate machinery and tools such as drills, saws, grinders, and welding equipment
- Perform machining operations to fabricate parts as needed
- Rig, build, and install structural components and systems
- Solder or weld components together to ensure secure connections
- Operate a forklift to move materials and equipment as necessary
- Perform pipe threading and cutting using appropriate tools and techniques
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a fitter or in a related field preferred
- Proficient in reading blueprints, codes, standards, and schematics
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of assembly techniques
- Ability to operate machinery and tools such as drills, saws, grinders, welding equipment, etc.
- Experience with rigging, building, and installing structural components is a plus
- Knowledge of soldering or welding techniques for secure connections
- Familiarity with pipe threading and cutting methods is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team

**Salary**: £30.00-£60.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Horley: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Fabrication: 1 year (preferred)
