**HGV Driver / Warehouse Operative**:

- Spider is advertising on behlaf of a leading independent UK distributor of thermal and acoustic insulation, interior systems, fire protection, construction products, roofing, and external façade materials.They are currently recruiting a **HGV Driver / Warehouse Operative** to be based at Plymouth branch.

As the **HGV Driver / Warehouse Operative** you will be responsible for the transport delivery of goods to customers in a safe and timely manner, always providing a high level of professional front line customer service. You will be drivingprofessionally, maintaining high standards of housekeeping, vehicle cleanliness with a competent knowledge of Road Traffic Law as well as always demonstrating consideration towards other Road vehicles and Vulnerable Road users.

Other key responsibilities of the **HGV Driver / Warehouse Operative include**:

- Ensuring compliance within the DVSA regulations (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency)
- Building professional relationships externally with customers, public, other road users, DVSA, Traffic police
- Support to the branch with picking, packing, stock checks, loading & housekeeping duties as required.
- Accepting of any changes in the delivery schedule to accommodate customer requirements. Checking the customer is satisfied with the delivery/goods and providing feedback to branch if required.
- Ensure a high level of product knowledge.
- Checks that quality and accuracy of goods are delivered against purchase orders and delivery/advice notes.
- Reports and documents if goods are damaged or whether discrepancies have occurred with deliveries.
- Labels and catalogues goods as required, as well as booking goods in using Encon systems. Picks goods accurately from order documentation.
- Securely packs and labels goods going out to customers and other branches.
- Safely loads all goods onto vehicles ensuring that the relevant paperwork is completed and included.
- Advises of shortages or low stock levels when appropriate.
- Unload vehicles safely using appropriate equipment i.e., forklifts etc.
- Put goods away safely using appropriate methods of transport e.g., forklift, WMA etc. in designated area.
- Move goods safely to designated loading areas using appropriate method of transport i.e., FLT, reach trucks etc.

**Please note**: Due to covering staff holidays and sickness this job will entail the person for the job to work in the warehouse and drive vehicles which range from a van to a 32t rigid vehicle. Driving will be the primary cover needed forthis position.

On offer is a competitive salary plus bonus scheme. This is a full-time position 40 hours per week. Benefits include 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance plan and work save pension.
