As a leading North London dance and performing arts charity with 25 years of experience, we offer weekly training and development opportunities in street dance, drama, music, fitness and dance therapy alongside backstage skills to over 500 young people every week.

Our charity status means that through funding and sponsorship we are able to offer an enriching experience at affordable rates and for those who need them, we have scholarships available. Valuing the needs of the individual means that we also offer extended classes for the gifted and talented and smaller groups for those who need more attention.

We are looking for a voluntary Treasurer to join our board of Trustees who meet around four - six times a year, either in person or via zoom.

**Treasurer Job Description**
- Oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.
- Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place.
- Monitor and report on the financial health of the organisation.

Specifically
- Make fellow committee members aware of their financial obligations and take a lead in interpreting financial data to them.
- Regularly report the financial position at trustee meetings (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance etc).
- Oversee the production of an annual budget and propose its adoption at the last meeting of the previous financial year.
- Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures and controls are in place, ie:

- Organisational Salary Structure
- Pensions
- PAYE and NI payments
- Others as appropriate
- Appraising the financial viability of plans, funding proposals and feasibility studies.

**Required Qualities**
- Knowledge and experience of current and fundraising finance practice relevant to voluntary and community organisations.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management (as necessary).
- Good financial analysis skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly

**Desirable Qualities**
- Knowledge of quickbooks
- Experience in working with small scale charities
- Knowledge of working with children
- Knowledge of the performing arts world

**Job Types**: Part-time, Volunteer

**Salary**: £0.01 per year
