**About the role**

The MRC Oxford Institute for Radiation Oncology’s mission is to explore aspects of radiation biology research that could yield new advances in the treatment of cancer. This post is for an administrator and project manager with a medical/biological sciences background, to support the Director of MRC Oxford Institute for Radiation Oncology and its senior academics in its grant writing and funder reporting activity for its portfolio of research infrastructure and training awards. This position could be an opportunity for a research scientist wishing to transition away from laboratory work and into research support or for an NHS employee looking to join the University in a research support role.

The role will involve a range of tasks including the identifying funding opportunities, pre-award administration (including supporting the financial costing, documentation coordination, and grant drafting), maintaining accurate records of research activity and research outcomes, and supporting mid
- and post-award funder reporting. This is an exciting and varied role requiring the post holder to use their scientific background and be involved with researchers at the cutting edge of cancer research.

**About you**

You will have administrative and organisational abilities, high levels of accuracy, attention to detail for written communications, IT skills, and a readiness to contribute to the smooth running of team efforts. You will work as part of a team and the skills to manage a fluctuating workload with multiple deadlines is required. You will take responsibility for your work and be able to co-ordinate a number of activities.

This is a part time post (0.5 FTE -18.75 hours/week), fixed term for 1 year in the first instance.

The post holder must be in post by March 2023.
