**Job description**:
A leading FMCG/distribution business require a Purchasing Coordinator/Buyer. Applicants need experience within a commercial, office, B2B or purchasing/supply chain environment and have strong administration and organisational skills.
The Purchasing Coordinator/Buyer will join a team of Buyers and be responsible for a range of purchasing, supplier liaison, logistics and stock control tasks.
Specific duties of the Purchasing Coordinator/Buyer include:
- Place purchase orders with suppliers, track progress and expedite deliveries
- Manage supplier orderbooks
- Collaborate with colleagues in Sales
- Liaise with 3PLs and freight forwarders in regards to stock movements and logistics
- Monitor stock levels
- Resolve supplier queries and delivery issues
- Monitor the purchasing inbox
Purchasing Coordinator/Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- IT skills and experience with MS Office packages (MS Excel)
- Procurement, Supply Chain or Logistics experience
- Outgoing, confident manner
- An understanding of how operations function in a small business
- Comfortable working 5 days onsite in Southampton
