Freight Forwarder

Atanak Forwarding Ltd specializes in freight forwarding shipments around the world and is one of the market leaders within the industry. We are operating between Turkey, EU and the United Kingdom and World Wide Sea freight since 2002, offering freight forwarding solutions via sea and road, as well as customs clearance, warehouse & distribution & fulfilment services. Due to business demand we now recruiting for an **Experienced Freight Forwarder - Sea Operations & Pricing**, based at our office in Belvedere, Kent DA18 4AL.

The salary on offer is dependent on experience but will be in the region of £32,000- £37,000 per annum + benefits package.

**Please note that this will be an office based position, Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm.**

**The Role**:

- Following up on leads, referrals, enquiries, and call backs by phone.
- Constantly grow the revenue in line with set yearly and quarterly targets.
- Ensuring maximum operational effectively & efficiency across all aspects of the ocean freight operations.
- Knowledge of all sea & ocean freight areas (bulk, breakbulk, LCL, FCL containers, RoRo, general cargo)
- Ensuring the Department is meeting KPI's & budgetary requirements.
- Considering and planning the most effective route for freight.
- Engage and motivate the Freight Forwarding team through coaching and performance management.
- Tracking the movement of freight using software and satellite technology.
- Reporting back to clients, keeping them up-to-date with the progress of goods.
- Deciding on the best way to package stock, taking into account factors such as weather, terrain and type of goods.
- Checking countries’ legal requirements to make sure all the appropriate documentation (eg insurance and customs forms) is filled out
- Staying up-to-date with relevant political activities and legislation that might impact the transportation of freight.
- Organising payments or processes transactions on behalf of the client, such as freight charges.

**Skills and Experience required**:

- Must be a self-starter with 3-4 years Container Operations Experience is a must.
- A natural problem solver who thrives off challenges.
- Previous experience working in a fast pace environment.
- Strong skills using MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills written and verbal.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Previous freight forwarding experience in road / air and European transport at least 1 year.
