We have an exciting opportunity for you to join UWE Bristol as a Student Success Coach. These positions are part of a recently established team working across our newly formed academic schools, providing support to our students. The successful applicants will have significant opportunities to develop their coaching skills and shape the delivery of key support mechanisms in a future-focused university that is committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for all our students.

The Student Success Coach is a new role that sits within our professional services to support the success of our students by using an inclusive holistic coaching approach to help them look deeper into themselves, identify challenges, realise strengths and give greater confidence to move forward and achieve their goals and aspirations.

Based in our academic Schools, working collaboratively with Programme Teams and School academic leaders supporting key moments in the student journey including induction, assessments, placements, module choices and transition; helping students achieve success in their studies.

The role will help students plan for and be confident in their futures including continuing to further study or establishing and supporting future goals; promoting self-efficacy and successful progression.

It is an exciting time to be joining UWE Bristol: our recently launched
_Strategy 2030_ sets out an ambitious programme of significant transformational projects to enhance the student experience. The Coaching team will play an important role in progressing this work and there will be significant opportunities for the role holder to lead and/or contribute to work that will have a lasting impact.

**About you**: You are an experienced professional services administrator with a track record of coaching to provide high quality, agile, customer-focused support to our students. You combine expertise, knowledge and understanding of best practice in the delivery of effective student support and development across the student journey, with a commitment to promoting innovation and continuous improvement of activity. Energetic and resilient, you enjoy working at pace and are comfortable with complexity and uncertainty. You have excellent communication and influencing skills and establish credibility quickly with staff and students at all levels. You are passionate about higher education and inspire individuals to achieve their full potential.

**About Student and Academic Services**:From the first point of registration to graduation and beyond, our team of over 400 professional staff is committed to enhancing the student experience, and ensuring that every student is able to make the most of the extensive opportunities available throughout their journey. This is enabled by working closely with all areas of the University, the Students’ Union and a wide range of external stakeholders.

We are responsible for developing and maintaining the comprehensive regulatory and quality management and enhancement framework that underpins the University’s academic provision, including support for the academic governance structures. We take responsibility for ensuring that the quality and standards of the University’s awards are maintained and enhanced across the organisation, and in its current and future academic partnerships. We also play an important part in helping Faculties develop relevant, sustainable and robust curricula in order to maintain and enhance the quality of learning opportunities available to all students. The development of policy to support our students and their academic endeavours sits within our remit, including areas of student conduct, professional suitability, safeguarding, handling complaints and appeals and responsibility for our Prevent duties.

Our teams lead on the management of key University business systems, registration activities, and all programme administration, including timetabling, assessments, examination boards and arranging professional placement opportunities. We also take responsibility for the operational relationships with our partner organisations.

In partnership with the Students’ Union and our student representatives, we work to ensure the student voice is a key part of our approach to enhancement activities across all areas of our work and the wider University. As part of this, we facilitate the National Student Survey and the University’s internal student engagement strategies.

Our dedicated team of staff provide advice and support on a wide variety of emotional and practical issues, from money management, fees and funding to programme-related issues, faith and spirituality, and general wellbeing.
