**End Date: 16th July or potential to go permanent.**

**£9.50 p/hr**

**Hours: 7am - 3pm (Mon to Fri)**

**Dress Code: Hi Viz Jacket and Safety Shoes**

**Key Purpose**:
Practically maintain the land holdings, focusing on its parks, green spaces, amenity areas and watercourses/ bodies in accordance with site management plans, service specifications and best management practice. To work towards meeting the service purpose for the people of Bedford using available resources doing what is required to meet demands and achieve service standards.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Day to day operational duties of maintenance of both formal and informal landscaped areas, seasonal bedding schemes and the maintenance of sports pitches and fine turf facilities
- Departmental documentation e.g., Daily Vehicle Check Sheets Maintain basic maintenance of allocated vehicle and accident forms.
- Plans for planting of bedding and landscape schemes.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Experience of delivering practical grounds maintenance & horticultural services and maintenance of sports pitches using plant/ machinery and power/ hand tools
- Must have current valid driving license with category C1+E.
- Ability to work on own initiative and to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to demonstrate a good understanding and the ability to follow health and safety.
- Must have good numeric skills for calculations to be carried out accurately around marking out pitches and tracks. These skills are also required to work out quantities for chemicals.
- Must be able to demonstrate good skills with all ground's maintenance equipment, including plant, machinery, and power/ hand tools.
