2 x Youth Justice Practitioner posts have arisen in the South Kent Youth Justice Team based at Shepway Youth Hub:
The purpose of the role is to operate as an Youth Justice Practitioner within a Youth Justice Unit operating across South Kent, delivering Youth Justice interventions and targeted support to vulnerable children, young people and their families.

As a member of a multi-agency service, you will work in partnership to undertake assessment of and direct work with young people and their families with a range of needs in order. The purpose of this work is to deliver both statutory Court Orders and as well as non-statutory work to reduce the risk of reoffending, in accordance with the agreed intervention plans and in the context of managing their risk of harm to others and vulnerability issues.

The role also includes regular attendance at Youth Justice unit meetings and multi-agency meetings for the purposes of prevention and risk management.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
