Do you have a passion and commitment to working for a charitable organisation? We have an exciting opportunity to join Father Hudson’s Care who provides social care throughout the Archdiocese of Birmingham, which includes Community Projects.

Sophia House is a partnership project supported by the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity of the Good Shepherd, the Parish of Our Lady and St Brigid and Father Hudson’s Care. The project provides a supportive and welcoming home in shared accommodation for female refugees and migrants who are tenants of the property. The project also accepts women who are pregnant. We support them in their housing tenancy to enable them to progress towards a safe and settled future in the UK.

You will work with the individual tenants providing person centred support enabling tenants to move forward with their lives in the UK. Encouraging tenants to take practical steps, such as securing accommodation, accessing education, benefits and health care where appropriate to enable them to achieve self-selected goals, supporting them to positively move onto sustainable independent living.

You will manage referrals into the house, liaising with referrals partners and agencies,

and oversee the day-to-day building maintenance and checks.

You will review progress of individuals and maintain clear, accurate and up to date records of the assessed needs as well as the information, advice and support provided, reporting regular updates to the Deputy Community Projects Manager on support undertaken.

A basic disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service will be requested for the successful applicant (funded by the Society).
