The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development. You will work closely with our clients and teams of engineers and technical specialists to deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage modelling to inform and deliver appraisal and design projects across the UK. The role will also provide the opportunity to gain experience in economic assessment and project appraisal as well as using existing skills should you already be proficient. There is also the opportunity to manage projects locally (dependent on experience) and take on the wider responsibilities associated with a Team Leader role in the future, as the team grows.

Essential:

- Relevant degree-level qualifications (e.g. hydrology, geography, mathematics, civil engineering, or other related disciplines)
- Professional experience working in the UK and in using recognised flood modelling packages such as ISIS/Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW is essential. Use of FEH based methods to produce flood hydrology
- Proficient in the use of GIS using ArcGIS and MapInfo software.
Clear, honest and effective communication skills
- Systematic logical approach to problem solving
- Ability to work effectively to meet client needs and deadlines both independently and as part of a team

Desireable:

- Knowledge or experience of completing economic assessment
- Coastal modelling, surface water and drainage modelling experience
- Hydraulic assessment and design using theoretical / empirical approaches
- Project management
- Team development and leadership
- Tender preparation
- Water modelling software packages such as MIKE or Infoworks
- Survey management
- Design of SuDS and conventional drainage systems.
- Developing scripts using Python etc.
- Producing or contributing to Flood Risk Assessments / Flooding Consequences Assessments
