**Sales Assistant and Guide**

**Part time**

Start date: 23/03/23 - end October with potential part time winter hours.

**Hours**: Flexible from 10 - 30 hours per week with some weekends. Opportunity to develop this post through sales.

Pay; National Living Wage

**Responsibilities**:

- Selling and providing tastings of Traquair House Ales from the Brewery Shop and conducting occasional tours of the brewery. You will report to the Shops Manager
- Undertaking some sales research and selling to retail and wholesale customers.

**Duties**:

- Providing exceptional customer service and providing a welcoming and friendly environment
- Have a good working knowledge of the brewery and its history.
- Provide samples of the ales and be able to talk about the beers and enthuse customers.
- Keep the shop clean and tidy and ensure stock displayed attractively
- Assisting the manager with stock control and management of stock using an EPOS system..
- Checking delivery notes and invoices when stock arrives
- Cashing up at end of day. Taking card payments and cash.
- Guiding small groups around the brewery and explaining its history.
- Occasional attendance at outside events to help with tastings etc.

**Skills**:
An enthusiasm for beer and communicating your passion to visitors

Self motivated to learn about history of Traquair and the brewery

Sales and/or retail experience preferred

Experience of dealing with customers and enjoy meeting the public

Work well within a team

Reasonable degree of fitness to take deliveries of beer and move stock around.

Be tidy, organised and ensure the shop is kept clean and attractive.

Keeping all areas behind tills clean and well organised

Experience of dealing with cash and payments.

Opportunity for job to be extended beyond October for to develop trade sales

Car ownership or transport will be required to get to Traquair House.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 7 months
Part-time hours: 20 -30 per week

**Salary**: £9.60-£11.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

**Experience**:

- Sales: 1 year (preferred)
