Synthesist Chemist

Company expansion has created a new career opportunity for an experienced Synthesist Chemist to join this established, rapidly expanding manufacturer of speciality chemicals. Working with the guidance from the Head of Innovation and Technology; you willdesign and develop your own experimental plans, managing your work proactively, contribute to brainstorming discussions and offer ideas on favourable molecular structures and synthesis routes to meet customer’s needs.
As the Synthesist chemist you will support the Head of Innovation & Technology as follows:

- Contribute to all aspects of the product and process development commercialisation journey
- Carry out experiments and analysis to produce and characterise target materials within the NPD process
- Record all experimental procedures and analysis with departmental reporting and systems
- Recognise and document any inventive steps
- Contribute to the development of SOP’s

Your Profile:

- Relevant degree (preferably PhD) with industry experience in a R&D/technical role
- Strong scientific and technical competence in a wide range of organic reactions; particularly chemical synthesis of silicones
- Experience of experimental design, identifying potential molecules and synthesis routes
- Demonstratable experience of separation techniques
- Appropriate analytical and compound characterisation skills - techniques and interpretation of spectra.

- Attractive salary up to £45,000 per annum with annual pay rise
