We have an opening for a permanent counter-based salesperson in a well established independent builders’ merchant, with specialised departments in General Building, Timber, Landscaping, Architectural Ironmongery, Kitchens, and Bathrooms.

This is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn.

Salary starting rate: £7.50 per hour (£15,600pa).

Training:
Level 2 Trade Supplier Apprenticeship, duration 12 - 15 months.

This is a workplace-based apprenticeship with 20% of your working week allocated to your coursework.

Hours of work: 40-hour week on a 2-week shift pattern. Week 1 - Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00 & Friday and Saturday 08:00 to 12:00

Job purpose summary:
We have an exciting career opportunity for a motivated person to join our busy branch in Leamington Spa. Your duties will include responding to enquiries from both trade and retail customers via telephone and over the counter. You will receive extensive product training, that will give you the confidence to advise customers and assist them in their product selection. You will work as part of the team to deliver a professional level of service to our customers, supporting with the stocking and merchandising of the shop area, with stock checks and any investigations into significant stock variations. You must be motivated and with an ambitious approach to your role, with the ability to manage your time affectively meeting your job commitments, while completing a workplace-based apprenticeship, with 20% of your working week allocated to your coursework. You will need strong communication and people skills.
