We’re now looking to recruit an exceptional Employee Relations Advisor on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract that shares our core values; respect for people, hard work and enterprise, excellence in reputation and making the world a safer place for everyone.
About the role
Our HR Service Centre acts as an Advisory Centre of Excellence and provides a strong HR presence. The team acts as a foundation for the business, striving to improve employee relations by providing specialist advice and guidance on the management of employee relations cases and policies.
For this Employee Relations Advisor position, we're happy to consider experienced HR professionals who may be looking for part time (22.5 hours a week across various days) or full time (37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday). This role is for a 12 month FTC and our HR team work hybridly with a mix of office and home working so the successful ER Advisor will also benefit from flexible working.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Providing professional front-line support and advice to colleagues and line managers in all aspects of Employee Relations (ER) and contractual queries and challenges, aiming to resolve as many at first point of contact
- Analysing confidential and sometime complex information sources to make sound judgements on owned ER cases
- Reviewing documentation including occupational health referrals, disciplinary investigations, and performance improvement plans
- Providing training sessions to manages across the business on HR policy and processes.
- Coaching HR and Line Managers on complex ER matters, acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders to resolve ER issues and build management capability
About you
The ideal Employee Relations Advisor will be/have:
- Experience of working in a busy HR environment, with responsibility for Employee Relations and HR case work (essential)
- Knowledge or experience of HR Systems (iTrent desirable)
- In depth knowledge of IT (Excel / PowerPoint / Word)
- Experience of working in a confidential environment and providing advice to Colleagues and Line Managers
- A professional qualification of CIPD level 5 or equivalent (Desirable)
On top of working for the UK’s leading health and safety expert, you’ll also receive:
- A starting salary of up to £30,000 (pro rata if part time) depending on experience, plus a discretionary company bonus
- A Hybrid working pattern - 2 to 3 days in the office, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours a week for full time and 22.5 hours over various days for part time
