**Job Title**: CNC Operator - _Temporary to Permanent Opportunity_

**Hours of work**: (NIGHT SHIFT) Monday to Thursday, 9:30pm - 6:15am

**Pay rate**: £14.52 per hour (inclusive of 33% shift allowance)

**Location**:Colne

We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operative/Engineering Operative for our client who are a specialist manufacturer of parts to the automotive and aerospace industries.

**Duties & Responsibilities will include**:

- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
- Maintaining a clean & organised working environment
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, eroding, etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Prepare and load raw casting, forgings & materials, and parts onto the machines.
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Set machines to complete full cycles to produce parts of complex geometry.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly (using manual gauging).
- Operate CMM Machines to verify integrity of parts produced previous on CNC Machines

**Essential skills/experience**:

- Knowledge & use of CMM Machines & interpretating Inspection / CMM Results & Reports
- Knowledge, use & control of Calibrated Inspection Gauges & Fixtures
- Knowledge of Aerospace Processes & Procedures, and associated company policies
- Ability to Read Engineering / Technical Drawings
- Understanding of Dimensions & tolerances
- Experience of machining Nickel Based Alloys
- Good Problem Solving Skills
- Pride in quality of work produced.
- Aspiration to develop & learn new skills.
- Understanding of Lean, 5S & TPM

A night shift is also available Monday to Thursday 9.30pm to 6.15am, paying £14.52 per hour, inclusive of 33% shift allowance.
