**About this Role:
**Fawkes & Reece South are working with a civil engineering and rail contractor that works in collaboration with a private client on a rail framework and standalone projects covering Hampshire. They are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join oneof their busy commercial teams involved in various rail projects.
This reputable Main Contractor operates nationally on the rail, civil and engineering projects. Schemes can range anywhere from £10k to £1m, and standalone projects worth up to £6m. The scope of works includes asset construction, maintenance, and repairs.

**Senior Quantity Surveyor Duties Include**:

- Accurate monthly forecasting
- Ability to challenge resources and costs, maintaining deadlines in line with the monthly commercial calendar
- Produce and send enquiries to subcontractors inviting them to tender and engagement with the supply chain
- Receive and analyse quotations, liaising with Contracts Managers and Site Agents regarding price, proven history, availability etc.
- Notify in writing both successful and unsuccessful subcontractors promptly
- Produce and process formal subcontract documents and certify interim and final payments and final subcontract account
- Produce bill of quantity/activity schedule for payment purposes
- Quantity surveying experience in the construction industry, preferably with experience in the NEC Suite of Contracts
- Degree or equivalent qualified in quantity surveying
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, a problem-solving nature and a drive to succeed
- Ability to interpret technical/design detail to assist in problem-solving and valuing engineering options as appropriate
- Experience with change and risk management, as well as tender and final account negotiation skills

**The day rate is outside IR35**
- £400-£450 Day Rate
