A Global Engineering business based in Grantham is seeking an EHS Advisor on a permanent basis.

You will also be require to support the operations teams with safety initiatives and campaigns and also in the investigation regarding any near misses or injuries.

To supporting in the upkeep of all online reporting tools and systems to ensure correct safety data and statistics are available for the location.

Duties of the EHS Advisor:

- Provide direction and advice in the management of environmental, health and safety (EHS) matters
- Identify and assure conformity with customer, corporate, governmental and other requirements to ensure compliance
- Support the appropriate overall management of the accident / incident investigation process, ensure that effective remedial action is tracked to closure and reviewed for effectiveness according to the standard work for incident reporting and is completed in a timely manner
- Ensure that a corrective action process is in place for safety concerns, non-conformances, compliance findings and improvement objectives
- Provide advice and training to key stakeholders as required
- Act as a part of the primary Company interface with the HSE, Insurance Companies and any other external agencies involved in EHS
- Ensure that appropriate PPE is adopted for specific activities against the risk assessment and that stock is available and controlled in a cost-effective manner
- Undertake regular recording, monitoring and analysis of health & safety data
- Collaborate on the review/updates for all current policies and procedures and other documentation in order to meet legal and certified standards and report on general compliance
- Ensure that risk assessments are carried out and documented on all appropriate operations to the required quality standard. Work with the operations team to ensure they are updated and ensure they are undertaken when new or modified operations are introduced
- Undertake regular EHS inspections and audits together with Representatives of Employee Safety and their line managers and report on all improvements to be made
- Liaise with HR regarding any safety issues raised by Occupational Health advisors by reviewing and advising line management on practical actions to be taken
- Analyse causes of accidents for trends and recommend future preventative action in conjunction with management and HSE
- Provide regular statistics on Safety concerns/ Recordable/ Reportable Accidents and Incidents so that appropriate preventative actions can be taken.

Requirements of the EHS Advisor:

- Qualified NEBOSH Certificate
- Knowledge and understanding of HSE, ISO45001/14001 standards and requirements
- IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management would be benificial
- Experience of manufacturing environment including several years being involved in EHS
- Effective trainer /communicator, ideally with experience of having led teams in a matrix environment
- Strong, demonstrable IT skills in order to analyse and present data
- Experience of risk assessments - dynamic risk assessment experience is desirable
- Project management and problem-solving skills
- Strong management, oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
