Education Requirements:
BS in Engineering or equivalent. Advanced degree in engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace)

Engineer must have experience in 2D and 3D stress analysis, particularly of turbomachinery parts (e.g. rotating parts such as disks, static structures such as cases/frames, blades, etc.) using the latest in modelling techniques, such as friction at interfaces, elastic/plastic, etc. Engineer must be proficient in ANSYS and a geometry/modelling program such as UG. Prior experience with life analysis (low cycle fatigue and fracture mechanics) is preferred and the engineer should have demonstrated program management skills
Engineer must be capable of performing the following stress analysis tasks, as specified by the particular assignment:

- Ownership of stress analysis of assigned components
- Collaborate with support functions as needed (stress analysis, life management, heat transfer, materials, etc.)
- Ownership and management of program plans and schedules associated with assigned components
- Ensure assigned components meet GE Aviation technical requirements
- Interface with global engineering organizations and other internal organizations (e.g. design) as required to support activity on assigned components
- Provide assistance (to Certified MRB Engineering representative) for engineering dispositions of nonconforming hardware as required,
- Write Design Study Summaries (Design Record Book entries), TM’s (Technical Memorandums), and Coordination Memos as required to document Engineering activity on assigned components.
- Generate and deliver technical/program presentations to internal and external customers as required
