Trade Counter Advisor

BIG ANT are recruiting for our client who is looking for an experienced plumber or ex plumber to manage their busy trade counter.

If you have the essential plumbing knowledge needed and also the excellent customer service skills to compliment, this role could be for you.

Your role will be to ensure all customers experience high levels of service at all times. You will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain working relationships with colleagues as well as new and existing customers.

**The role will include**:

- Dealing with customers' quotes and enquiries promptly using pricing set pricing structures, but also using initiative when necessary to provide a competitive quotation, with prior authorisation.
- Handling cash/credit card transactions from customers at the trade counter.
- Undertaking stock takes, ensuring stocks are correct and notifying of any shortages or issues and updating the computer system accordingly.
- Promoting existing stock ranges to new and existing customers.
- Upselling in the retail section where possible.
- Escalating any issues to the manager as soon as they occur, in order for matters to be dealt with accordingly.
- Covering in the Stores department if and when necessary.
- Ensure that the trade counter, store and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Scheduling and booking deliveries to customers.
- Any other duties reasonably requested.

**Working hours**:
Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5pm

Alternate Saturdays, 8am to 12pm

Half an hour lunch break
