Retail Sales Assistant - Costcutter Colwyn Bay

Type: Part-time / Permanent / Approximately 12-16 hours with opportunities for overtime

**Overall Purpose of the Job**

As a retail assistant you will be at the forefront of our stores driving customer service; excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role as you will be working closely with the customers and other members of your team to maximise sales. Although sales are important we want our customers to enjoy visiting our shops and ultimately come back again. Your job is to provide help and assistance to the customer and ensure they find everything they need so product knowledge and initiative is essential for you to respond to customer enquiries and also make appropriate recommendations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Maximise sales by delivering excellent customer service.
- Controlling costs and waste.
- Till operation and cash handling.
- Food-to-go preparation.
- Controlling and replenishing stock levels.
- Maintaining security within the store according to Company procedures.
- Ensuring that all store standards including customer service, health and safety, and food and hygiene are maintained.
- General cleaning duties.
- To maintain and up date administration in accordance with existing procedures.

**Applicants will need**
- Previous experience in retail is preferred.
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent).
- To be enthusiastic, committed and self motivated.
- To be able to work as part of a team but also on their own initiative.
