Ward 23 is an acute, fast paced environment compromising of 33 beds, with patients varying from tracheostomies, laryngectomies and non invasive ventatilation requiring acute interventions/management.
We provide holistic care, to the acutely unwell and all patients with chronic respiratory conditions. The ward treats a wide range of thoracic conditions including lung cancer, asthma, COPD, TB, type 1 and type 2 respiratory failure, pleural effusions, pneumothorax, Tracheostomies and PE’S.
Support will be given at a clinical level by a senior nurse, and from a wider organisational structure
Respiratory nursing gives you acute dynamic skills which are transferable.
The Trust is a great place to work with on-going learning and is a top rated organisation for the delivery of excellent patient care. There is an reputation of excellent team work in an extremely friendly working environment.
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.
The Trust runs Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Dental Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
It serves a core population of around 630,000 people across Merseyside as well as providing a range of highly specialist services to a catchment area of more than two million people in the North West region and beyond.
